This is the second time in a review of a ThinLine product that the word "durable" springs to mind. Not surprisingly, and unbeknownst to me, ThinLine uses this word in their promotional material.

For the past three months, I have been using the above ThinLine saddle pad which is a rectangular dressage cotton pad with an inserted neoprene-like ThinLine cushion stitched on under where the saddle goes. It is well constructed, the seams are holding up without problems and my horse is very comfortable in it.

As the name suggests, gone are the ugly bulky pads. Now, you have a more elegant look and still have a lot more cushion than your average saddle pad. There are none of the ill effects such as bounciness, or interfering with saddle fit that one frequently gets from the thicker gel pads.

The saddle pad washes well and has kept its size and shape even though it has been in the washing machine numerous times. We, however, have always air dried it.

Pros
Provides an extra bit of comfort.
Does not interfere with saddle fit.
Elegant design.

Cons
None apparent.

Conclusion
This is a great product.

Price
Starts at $70

Insider Tip
When the ground gets hard and dry this summer, try packing your horse's hoofs with hoof packing 2 - 3 times per week. The hoof packing will make their hoofs more pliable and will help draw out any soreness.
